New Orleans, Louisiana (December 13, 2010) – Ring in the New Year with a special New Year’s Eve concert by Grammy Award-Winning jazz trumpeter, Irvin Mayfield. On Friday December 31 from 9 pm to 1 am, the hottest jazz club in town kicks off 2011 with a special New Year’s Eve concert, A Toast from New Orleans. One of the world’s greatest public radio stations, WWOZ 90.7, will broadcast the entire evening live from Irvin Mayfield’s Jazz Playhouse. Listeners from across the globe will be able to experience New Year’s Eve New Orleans Style.
Irvin Mayfield will present his all-star Jazz Playhouse Revue featuring David Torkanowsky, Aaron Fletcher, Don Vappie, Leon “Kid Chocolate” Brown, Lucien Barbarin, Neal Caine, and entertainer Trixie Minx. Your ticket includes a unique opportunity to experience jazz at its best, an open premium bar, Champagne at midnight, and special party keepsakes. Those attending will also enjoy a progressive dinner menu of passed hors d’ oeuvres and tapas prepared by Executive Chef Peter Page. Some of the many selections include the Lobster Cappuccino Bisque, Porcini Crusted Rack of Lamb, Seared Chilean Sea Bass, and the Butter Braised Filet Mignon Tournedos.
